sooooooooooo much has happened i'm not sure where to begin. i do know you're going to need to sit down to read this. prepare yourselves for many, many exclamation points.

ok, so the birth mom who we're supposed to meet on thursday that picked us was induced TODAY!!! yes, a healthy, 6lbs., 1 oz. baby boy was born today, 11/12/07!!! in my excitement, i completely forgot to ask raquel how tall (i guess you're supposed to say how long when they can't stand up yet, huh?), what time he was born, or any of those most important things. all i heard was there is a baby in this world who might be mine. who's supposed to be mine (i've thrown rationale completely out the window at this point!). the birth mom is doing well tonight, too.
raquel said we may still go to ft. worth for a face-to-face meeting with the birth mom if she feels up to it thursday. i appreciate all of the great gift suggestions btw--they're so helpful!
so now the longest wait of my life begins. 2 things: we have to wait for the birth mom to sign the papers later this week (thursday or friday), and we have to wait 3 weeks for that dumb sickle cell test to come back negative. and since i've already explained the whole adoptive parent time continuum thing where 3 weeks will feel like 6.5 years, i won't go into how hard this will be.
i'm so grateful to have your thoughts and prayers. and tonight, i'm most thankful that there's a brand new life in this world.
i always wanted to adopt some babies--now i have a houseful of boys, and though it's a zoo sometimes, i consider myself richly blessed.

Oh Meredith, how exciting! And how nerve wracking the waiting must be. You'd better do something to keep yourself busy so the days will pass faster!! Still praying for you guys.

This is so exciting!I will be praying that the paper signing, test taking, test results and preparations all go well and quickly! There is a lot there to handle all at one time!
